They assume that parents know their rights and their options. Trying to live up to these assumptions can be overwhelming. In reality, parents frequently don't know where to turn for help so they can make the best decisions possible for their child.

My goal
I am Nancy E. Huerta, a graduate of Harvard University and the University of Chicago Law School, and an attorney since 1993. I understand the complexity of special education law and use my knowledge and experience to advocate for special needs children and their families. By focusing on the child's needs and abilities, I help parents make their communication with their child's school constructive. They are then able to make sure that their child gets the chance to succeed. My firm works toward this goal with parents keeping the best interests of the child firmly in mind.
